How to Use Scrabble Solva

1. Set up your board — Click cells to place tiles already on the board, or use the rack to enter your available letters.
2. Hit Solve — Our engine scans every row and column for valid words that connect to existing tiles.
3. Pick your move — Results show the word, position, score, and direction. Click any suggestion to see it on the board.

High-Scoring Scrabble Words

Maximise your Scrabble score with these key strategies:

• Q words without U: QI, QAT, QAID, QADI, TRANQ, FAQIR, MBAQANGA — learn these to turn a difficult Q into big points.
• Bingo stems: SATINE, SATIRE, RETAIN, TISANE — add any 7th letter to these 6-letter stems for a 50-point bingo bonus.

Scrabble Board Strategy

Use premium squares wisely. Triple Word (TW) squares are in the corners and edges — aim to reach them with high-value tiles. Double Letter (DL) squares near TW squares let you double a key letter then triple the whole word.

Don't open TW squares for your opponent. If you play a word that reaches a TW lane, your opponent can extend it to the TW square. Block or avoid unless you're the one reaching it.

Keep a balanced rack. A mix of vowels and consonants (roughly 3:4) gives you more options. Swap tiles when stuck rather than making weak plays.

Parallel plays score big. Placing a word parallel to an existing word scores for both words — and every cross-word they create. This often outscores playing across premium squares.

Scrabble Dictionaries: CSW21 vs TWL

Scrabble Solva uses the CSW21 (Collins Scrabble Words 2021) dictionary, the official word list for Scrabble played outside North America (UK, Australia, NZ, South Africa, etc.). It contains over 279,000 valid words.

In North America, tournaments use TWL (Tournament Word List), which is a subset of CSW21. Key differences: CSW21 includes many words not in TWL like CHI, KHI, DIWATA, and thousands more. If you play in both regions, use Safe Mode to stick to words found in both dictionaries.
